Robert P. Palmer was born in Billings MT, raised in Powell and Cheyenne, and attended high school in Germany. Bob is the Campbell County Board of Commissioners Administrative Director, a position he has held since 2006. Previously, he was Vice President of Human Resources for Campbell County Memorial Hospital, and the Human Resources Manager for Campbell County. Bob was also the first Administrative Director for Campbell County beginning in 1991.  His career includes working as an economic development director, small business development center director, consultant, and in the hospitality industry. Bob has a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies from the University of Wyoming and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University. He is a member of the International City County Management Association (ICMA) and the National Association of County Administrators (NACA). He holds the certification of Professional in Human Resources from the HR Certification Institute and SHRM Certified Professional from the Society of Human Resource Management, and is a past Chapter and State President of SHRM. Bob is a graduate of Leadership Wyoming and the Gillette Area Leadership Institute. He is a member of the Gillette Energy Rotary Club, a Paul Harris Fellow, serves on the Gillette College Advisory Board, Delta Dental of Wyoming Board of Directors and Foundation, and is a USSF, WHSAA and NCAA Soccer Official. He and his wife Carol have three children and four grandchildren. They have resided in Gillette since 1984 and enjoy the many outdoor benefits of Wyoming, including running, hiking, camping, fishing, snowshoeing and skiing.
