“After living in and flying in and out of the Seattle Area for 12 years I have found that flying in and out of Gillette is a joy. In Seattle, I would have to get to the airport at least 2 hours before my flight, which meant I left home at least 3 or 4 hours before my flight. I would have to pay exorbitant amounts for parking and barely make my flight. In Gillette I head, up to the airport 45 minutes before my flight, park for free and walk right on the plane. Coming home is just as quick.”

Railroads:

Campbell County is served by two railroads. The nation’s largest railroad; Union Pacific, and the nations second largest; Burlington Northern and Santa Fe (BNSF). Both railroads primarily serve the coal industry with several unit trains departing the Powder River Basin each day. There are rail parks in and around Gillette that cater to non-coal traffic and provide service to manufacturers and businesses that require rail service. BNSF entered Wyoming's low-sulfur coal-rich Powder River Basin in the 1970s through construction of the Powder River Basin Joint Line with Chicago and North Western. Coal goes north in unit trains on the three-to-four-track Joint Line to Gillette or south to Orin, where older BNSF lines and other railroads take it in all directions to coal-burning power businesses across the nation.
